This is a story 'bout courage

Once of our favorite songs in AMI class this past week has been "This is a Song About Sammy" Also known as "I'm Glad I'm Me" by Hap Palmer.  It goes like this:

The song is pretty darn enjoyable by itself. A colleague made up an alternate version that I love. I think I'll find myself singing it a lot throughout the upcoming year.

"This is a song about courage
It's not always simple living life
but if you hold your heart so tender
this is what you may find

my name is _______ and I'm happy to be me
happy to be me
happy to be me
my name is _______ and I'm happy to be me
on my bike ride home"

Of course you may substitute "on my bike ride home" with whatever you are doing in the moment. What a joyful way of acknowledging a tough moment, while also bringing awareness to the potential for happiness AND what your work of the moment is.
